Compassion & Choices
Compassion & Choices offers free resources to help people get the end-of-life care they want. The End-of-Life Decisions Guide and Toolkit guides users through considering their priorities, discussing them with medical providers and loved ones, and making a plan. For people interested in medical aid in dying, the Find Care Tool helps them locate a facility, medical team, or hospice that supports this option. And for practicing physicians seeking to better serve their patients, Doc2Doc provides confidential phone consultation with a medical professional experienced in end-of-life care.
Death with Dignity National Center
The Death with Dignity National Center promotes death-with-dignity laws in the United States, both to provide an option for dying individuals and to stimulate nationwide improvements in end-of-life care. The organization offers information, education, and support about death with dignity as an end-of-life option to patients, family members, legislators, advocates, healthcare and end-of-life care professionals, media, and the public.
The Conversation Project
The Conversation Project offers free tools, guidance, and resources to help people begin talking with loved ones about their wishes for care through the end of life, so those wishes can be understood and respected. The website includes an excellent blog, Talking Matters, which includes a list of recommended books on death and end-of-life care.
